TSF September Meeting Details

Hey everybody,

We'll be meeting Thursday, September 5th, at 6:30PM at Dynasty Leesburg. At the meeting, we will discuss plans for 2025 homebrewing competitions (since a lot of them fill up quickly, it turns out) and doing a potential Fall brewery crawl.

Since we haven't posted a meeting update in a while, we'll let everyone in on what's happened recently. The club did a Homebrew Fantasy Draft, where we ran a fantasy football-style draft of various ingredients and all brewed with our "team". The overall winner of the competition was Eggie (our newest member!), who brewed the Nelson Délice biere de garde.

The Social Fermenters will be submitting Eggie's beer, along with runner-up Jeremy Sturm's "Nothing Ever Gose Wrong" beer, to the AHA-sponsored Hoptoberfest 2024 competition. Darrel's "Sgain Duh" (named after a Celtic dagger worn in traditional Scottish dress), a British Dark Mild, will be submitted to the Maryland Microbrewery and Homebrew Competition. These entries will all be covered by club membership costs.
